Carnal Sins [SPOILERS]
Hey folks,
So yesterday I did Carnal Sins quest and I must say what an amazing quest, reminded me of the investigation in TW1.
I was going in the right direction but CDPR once again got the best of me, I got hasty in deciding the murderer and mistakenly picked Nathaniel instead of figuring out the real murderer Hubert however the thing that disappointed me more is that the character log entry quickly updated as soon as I finished the quest revealing real murderer to me, something like this should be revealed a bit later in the game through another quest or some consequence of your decision not immediately because that kind of killed it for me.
I generally try to live with the decisions/mistakes I make but since this got revealed so fast, part of me now tells me to reload a save and butcher the real murderer because the way he tortured his victims (specially Priscilla) made me wanting to chop of his head but then other part tells me not to do this and live with what I have done.
What do you guys think about it ? Do you agree with me that something like this should be revealed a bit later where reloading becomes impossible and you just have to live with it as a punishment of your foolishness ?
Btw does killing Nathaniel instead of Hubert has some consequences ? and do we get the chance to catch Hubert later on ? go ahead spoil it for be because I am curious now

Honestly, I killed them both, as I saw very little difference between the two. So far, though, I've seen no special consequences for killing either of those pious sadists. However, I don't think you can return to kill Hubert once the quest ends.

I agree. My choice would have been the same had I didn't acted so hastily, I didn't bothered paying attention to more talk options and just killed Nathaniel as quickly as I can, later it was revealed that Hubert was the real murderer and now he moved somewhere else to continue his sick work, that made me wonder whether I'll get another chance to kill that sadist psychopath. Oh well I guess that's a lesson learned well, never act hastily in Witcher games, hats off to CDPR for another twisted quest.

I also killed Nathaniel before questioning him. Later in the game I came across a woman murdered like the others. Then I went to the morgue. There was a letter from Hubert. There seems like no way to track him but at least that new body could show us some leads. Tell us if you find anything about him

Thanks for the lead I'll keep on looking. It was really irritating that the real murderer slipped away fooling Geralt (the player) in the process. I hope we get a chance to catch him and fix our mistake, of course the punishment of additional murders is justified for us for acting in haste but to see him gone forever doing his evil acts is frustrating.

I actually listen every bad npc's story I give them a chance but somehow I thought Nathaniel deserves an instant death. I couldnt be more wrong. :- And I'm afraid theres no make up for our fault. I searched a little bit on internet and it seems hopeless.

cut them both down. But first talk with Nathaniel so you learn that Hubert is the culprit and was playing you (though I thought that was obvious since the Vegelbud murder) then you get the chance to either let him finish his torturing of Nelly and just go for Hubert, Axii him into leaving her alone, or cut the fanatic shit down free Nelly and then go for hubert which imo is the best option cause you cut down both sick bastards, you solve the case and get the katakan mutagen from Hubert when he transforms.

I thought this was one of the best quests in the game . The full on emotional drama kept me going until it was done or so I thought . On first play through I killed Nathaniel without a seconds thought and left feeling pretty good about myself until the latest playthrough and chose to talk to Nathaniel first . Needless to say I felt real bad about missing it the first time but felt a whole lot better when it was over .

The weird thing is that Geralt is a tracker. He can discover something that happen days ago (or weeks/years), but unable to tracker a serial killer that leaves bodies around the city. I know the game want to us to leave with your choices, but this is not "fit" with geralt skills/abilities.... The game is really great and I love play it, but should have more consistency in this case

I'd like to revive this thread by asking if you can still kill Nathaniel even if you Axii'ed him. Because, you know, 40 xp from Axii in dialogue, then 80 xp for killing him plus the poker weapon. *GREED*
